He has given to us His precious and very great promises, that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature.
2 Peter 1:4

Every promise God gives to us in the Bible is a means by which He intends us to encounter His manifest presence and to actually become partakers of the divine nature.

This verse identifies an entire category of scripture that are called promises. These promises are even identified as very great and precious. The more you believe them, trust in them, cash in on them, and use them to encounter God’s manifest presence and to become partakers of the divine nature, the more great and precious they will become to you.

Every time you come across a promise in the Bible, it reveals something God intends to do for you. What could be better! As you read your Bible as a prayer book and begin to mark the very great and precious promises, you will want to begin praying them back to God.

Father God, open my eyes to find all the promises in Your Word that You have for me each day. I am hungry for Your manifest presence. I want to become a partaker of Your divine nature today.

This daily Christ-encountering, fire-starter is not intended to replace your daily Bible reading and prayer time, but rather to motivate you to spend extended time in His presence.
